4 newb skill questions
I had a couple basic questions about skills.
1. How many skills can you have at a time, is it 8? 2. Can you take all skills of one class at a time? 3. Whats an Elite Skill, how are they different? Can you have all Elite skills at a time? 4. Is there a better place to find out these answers rather than bugging you guys? K |

Yea like him I'm new to this, I tried the beta test before but dindt' get much info out of it.
I'm currently playing WoW and I'm wondering how this game compares to it I like the fact taht you can evade projectiles (unlike wow where arrows haunt you till you die) and the class/subclass idea I realyl enjoyed in FF11. I'd liek to add a few qeustiosn to his list: can you choose a sub class at character creation and what are the advantages of jsut having one class. does the game have a mmorpg feel, I'm just hoping it doesn't turn out liek the 'free online' Diablo 2 experience. Thanks ~ |

2) yes, if that is what you want, but only up to 8. 3) elite skill means that the skill for some reason was considered "good" enough by the devs that they label it as elite. only one elite skill is allowed on your skill bar when you're playing. that is -total-, not per profession. 4) i'd suggest using the search feature up near the top of the screen. 5) no, your skill strength/effectiveness/duration will be determined by the attribute points you have put into the related attribute to that skill. |

#5. Are you better at Primary Skills than your secondary ones?

1)Yes 8.
2)Yes, any 8 3)Elite skills are those you get much higher level (never got one myself so I could be corrected on this one). As far as I know a skill is a skill, you can have multiple elite skills 4) A lot of information on the main page, but question 3 isn't covered. As far as resources go, the GW main site has linkes to many news, guides and forum sites but I like this one. 5) Yes Primary's are always stonger than Secondary - i.e., a Primary Warrior skills are stonger than Secondary Warrior Skills of the same level. |

3) well, i had a level 8 or 9 elementalist/ranger with water trident which is elite. it's to be had at Ascalon Settlement. you can have in your skill list multiple elites, but you can only have one on your skill bar when you actually go to play. 5) not if the attribute points put in those skills are the same i believe. |

I dont know, diablo 2 was pretty sweet. But this seems like a much more strategic game. More planning, less repitition, more rewarding when you are succesful. It's going to be an awsome change of pace.

And also, all professions have a primary attribute and you are only allowed to use your primary profession's primary attribute. So any skills connected to your secondary profession's primary attribute will be weaker. |

Right, I forgot about the necklace, my bad.
On another note I've never been too much of a fan of necklaces, takes a bit of the strategy out of chosing your professions. (But then again I do suppose it adds strategy opening for more combos.) |

Diablo 2
Lots better than Diablo 2.
1) Higher items will be available to anyone who can put together the crafting materials to make them and are the right level and character type. Best items will be customized and therefore untradeable 2) Trading is much freer and open. Because crafting materials are required at all levels, trading is brisk and vigorous even at lower levels. Everything you find can be salvaged and traded. In other words, you won't be laughed off the planet for just started out and not having any "uber" gear 3) Drops are pre-assigned. No more party lurkers swooping in and claiming the best items. 4) True party play. If you don't know how to play your char and support the mission, you'll die. 5) Speaking of dying, best of all, there's no death penalty. You aren't going to get slammed for trying something out or taking a risk. 6) Lots of quests, not just a few. 7) Huge game area. Lots to do! 8) Fun people to play with--not creeps waiting to PK you. 9) No PKing in missions. People who want to PK, go to separate area. Oh, and beautiful graphics and great gameplay. |

If you take the Profession as a secondary you do NOT get this Attribute. Each Attribute has skills associated to it. These skills are still available to you with the Profession as a secondary however, as you can't access the Attribute, their effectiveness will always be at level zero (0). Some skills do not need points in the associated Attribute to be effective. Most do. |
